Team India suffered a second injury blow on Thursday before the fourth Test against England. In the Lord’s contest, Rishabh Pant sustained a finger injury on Day 1 and didn’t keep wickets. Dhruv Jurel was given the wicket-keeping gloves. Pant is working hard to get fit for the upcoming game. Meanwhile, the visiting team suffered another injury concern in the form of Arshdeep Singh. His hand was heavily strapped, and India’s assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate revealed the reason.

He was hit on his hand during the practice session and was taken to the doctor. “He was trying to stop a ball and suffered a cut. We have to see how bad the cut is. He has been taken to a doctor and if there is a need for stitches, we will have to plan his recovery in the next few days,” he said.

Ten Doeschate hinted that it could impact India’s planning amid the need to rest Jasprit Bumrah.

There is also concern about Mohammed Siraj’s workload as he has bowled 109 overs across six innings.

Ten Doeschate called Siraj the lion-hearted bowler. “The ongoing tour has been exciting as you get to see close contest on a daily basis. The guys have been working hard. Siraj is a like a lion. He doesn’t get wickets everytime but he gives his 100 percent. Siraj is not concerned about the workload. So it is important to keep him fit and in a best possible shape. We will take a call on our bowling combination as Arshdeep Singh is injured.”
