West indies cricket in last one month: The West Indies were once called the world’s most scary and glamorous cricket team. However, the team is going through the weakest phase today. There was a time when the heartbeat of opposition teams increased as the Caribbean players landed on the field. But now neither the results are coming, nor the players are standing.
In the last one month, the situation of West Indies cricket has deteriorated so as if the whole team seems to be shattered. On the one hand, while star players are saying goodbye to international cricket, on the other hand, the embarrassing performance of the team on the field has also disappointed the fans. Let’s know, what tremors did West Indies cricket have faced in the last one month.
The team’s stylish and young batsman Nicholas Puran recently announced retirement from international cricket. He played 103 T20I and 61 ODIs for the West Indies. His retirement shocked the West Indies cricket fans, as he is just 29 years old and is counted among the world’s most rich and dangerous batsmen.
During the Pink Ball Test match against Australia, the names of the West Indies batsmen were recorded as an embarrassing record. Chasing the target in the second innings, the West Indies were reduced to just 27 runs. This was the lowest score in the Test history of the West Indies.
The team’s all -rounder Andre Russell is also going to retire from international cricket next week. He will say goodbye after playing the first two T20 matches against Australia. Russell’s decision is not shocking because he was not playing regularly for the West Indies for the last few years. However, this is another major setback for West Indies cricket.
