IND vs Eng Test, Mohammed Siraj: Jaspreet Bumrah’s workload management is often discussed. Being the main bowler of the team and in view of his injury records, Bumrah is taken special care of. Even before the start of the Indo-England Test, head coach Gautam Gambhir made it clear that only three Tests will be played in the Bumrah series. But now Assistant Coach Ryan Ten Doshet has spoken about the workload management of Bumrah’s fellow fast bowler Mohammad Siraj.
Ryan Ten Doshet said that there is a lot of talk about Bumrah’s workload management, but Siraj is not included in this list, while he has been playing continuously for a few years. But Siraj’s workload management can also become very difficult for Team India.
In the second Test of the series played at Edgbaston, Birmingham, Bumrah was rested, in the absence of which Siraj took over the weight of the bowling unit. In Edgbaston, Siraj took 6 wickets in the first innings and 1 wicket in the second innings. Then Siraj took a total of 4 wickets in the Lord’s Test too.
If Siraj is now rested the next Test to be played in Manchester, the whole will come to Bumrah. Full responsibility on Bumrah means to increase the risk of their injury. However, it is also worth noting that Siraj has played all three Tests in the series. Therefore, due to workload, they can be rested in the fourth Test. So let’s know what the assistant coach said on the issue.
In a media press conference, Ryan Ten Doshet said, “Managing a bowler like Mohammad Siraj is equally important, which is always ready to pour the active over, as Stokes did on the fifth day of the Lord’s Test.”
The assistant coach further said, “We take it lightly how lucky we have someone like him. I know that he is not always able to do what you expect from a fast bowler, but in the case of heart he is like a lion. Whenever he has a ball in his hand, you think that something is going to happen.”
