Delhi: The Indian team, while presenting a tremendous game in the fourth Test match, got a match against England. In this match played in Manchester, England scored a huge lead of 311 runs over India by scoring 669 runs in the first innings.

Despite this, the Indian batsmen rescued the match by performing strongly in the second innings.

India’s brilliant comeback in second innings

The start of the second innings was very poor for India. In the first over, the wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudarshan fell. The team was seen in crisis, but after this KL Rahul and Shubman Gill, while handling the innings, shared a 188 -run partnership for the third wicket. Both batsmen performed well in restraint and technology.

Gill and Rahul’s Sadh innings

Shubman Gill scored 103 runs in 238 balls while playing captaincy innings, while KL Rahul scored an important innings of 90 runs in 230 balls. Together, both of them gradually reduced England’s first innings lead. However, Gill was dismissed by Jofra Archer, while Rahul’s innings was ended by Ben Stokes.

Jadeja and Sundar’s century partnership

When it seemed that England could return again, Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja took the front.

The two batsmen scored a century and destroyed England’s hopes of victory in the last session of the fourth and fifth day. Jadeja played a brilliant innings of 107 runs and Sundar scored an unbeaten 100.

Huge score in England’s first innings

Earlier, England scored 669 runs while batting vigorously in their first innings. India’s first innings was reduced to 358 runs, leading to the lead of 311 runs. But, in the second innings, the Indian batsmen scored 425 runs, showing discipline and combativeness and lost only 4 wickets, which succeeded in drawing the match.

Overall, England is currently ahead 2–1 in the five matches Test series. The fifth and last Test match of the series will be played in London from 31 July.
