The Oval Test, which was heading for a perfect conclusion for England, changed dramatically as Shubman Gill and his team took control and secured a thrilling win. This victory resulted in the five-match series ending in a 2-2 draw, with Shubman Gill successfully leading India in his first stint as Test captain.

Before the series began, many former cricketers and fans underestimated the potential of the young side. Former England captain Michael Vaughan had even predicted a 3-0 or 3-1 series win for England.

After India’s dominant performance, former spinner Harbhajan Singh took a dig at Vaughan, calling the Indian players “warriors.”
