Rajasthan Royals (RR) has taken an important decision before this year’s auction, which has now almost impossible transfer of Samson.

For some time, there were rumors that CSK is looking for a new wicketkeeper batsman, as MS Dhoni is at the last stop of his career. It was also said in the reports that CSK is eyeing Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson, who is also an important player in Team India’s T20 format.

RR decided to retain Samson

Amidst reports of Sanju’s trade, a report by ‘Mumbai Mirror’ has revealed that Rajasthan Royals have decided to retain Sanju Samson for 2026 seasons.

He is not going to trade Samson nor any other player. This means that Samson will now play the next season along with Rajasthan and will continue to captain the team.

IPL 2025 was disappointing for RR

The 2025 season was nothing special for RR. The team won only 4 out of 14 matches and stood at number 9 in the points table. Samson participated in the first three matches as an impact due to a finger injury and later could not play five matches due to a abdominal injury.

He played a total of 9 matches in which he scored 285 runs. Their average was 35.62 and strike rate 140.39. During this, he scored only one half -century.

Samson has been associated with RR since 2013 and has been captaining the team since 2021. Under his leadership, the team reached the final in 2022 and also made it to the playoffs in 2024.
