Sachin Tendulkar has become a fan of Mohammed Siraj after his memorable spells on the England tour, where he finished as the highest wicket-taker in the Test series. He took two five-wicket hauls in the team’s victories at Edgbaston and the Oval. In Jasprit Bumrah‘s absence, he delivered game-changing bowling spells. In the fifth and final contest, Siraj picked up nine wickets and played a key role in India’s 6-run win.

Tendulkar hailed Siraj for his breathtaking bowling, noting that his swing troubled the England batters and how he maintained the pace even on the last day of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.

“Superb and unbelievable approach by Siraj. I love his attitude and the spring in his legs. No batter likes to face him as he is constantly in their face. He maintained his approach till the last day. I heard commentators saying that he bowled around 145 kmph on the last day after having bowled over 1000 deliveries in the series. This shows his big heart,” Sachin Tendulkar said on Reddit.

Siraj’s defining moment came on the fifth day of the Oval Test, when his effort helped the Indian National Cricket Team dismiss England for 367 while chasing 374. He was named the Player of the Match.

The legendary batter said Siraj doesn’t get enough credit despite being one of the best bowlers.

“The way he bowled on the last day was remarkable and he has always played a key role whenever we need him. He has been consistent but he doesn’t get the credit he deserves,” he added.
