The veteran batter Virat Kohli has resumed practice after a long break amid the IPL trade window rumours.
Earlier, on August 08, a picture of Kohli, who retired from test cricket recently, went viral after it surfaced on social media.
Virat Kohli was spotted with a grey beard, which has created speculations over ODI retirement. Moments after the picture was shared, Virat Kohli resumed his practice with Naeem Amin, the assistant coach at Gujarat Titans, who runs the Mighty Willow Academy in Berkshire, in London.
In his story, Virat Kohli claimed that he had a hit, and Amin was there to help him out. “Thanks for helping out with the hit brother. Always lovely to see you,” Virat Kohli wrote in Instagram.
“Good to see you brother! See you soon,” said Amin. Virat Kohli’s return to action is not be anytime soon. The Indian great has retired from the T20 and Test format, which means, he only will play ODIs.
Virat Kohli has been under the radar and remained low-key since the IPL, making just two public appearances going to attend Wimbledon and then gracing a ‘YouWeCan’ event hosted in London by Yuvraj Singh.
Ohterwise, he been away from the public eye, and barring a couple of posts of X on the Indian team’s performance in Birmingham Oval, Kohli has been well to put it simply in hibernation.
He was part of the Champions Trophy side recently and also played a pivotal role in helping Royal Challengers Bengaluru clinch their maiden IPL title after a wait of 18 long years.
Since his test retirement announcement, there has been mixed reactions to his call. While some reckon he is fit enough to continue on for a little longer in Tests, other feels it is a personal call and that should be respected.
Virat Kohli had an impressive campaign in the IPL 2025 scoring 657 runs in 15 games at a strike rate of 144.71.
This features eight fifties as well. Kohli provided a brilliant starts throughout the season which helped the side to make a formidable lineup. He is anticipated to return to action for the ODI series against Australia later this year.
