Delhi: Craig McMillan, head coach of New Zealand Women’s Cricket Team, has said that there is a dire need of all -rounder like Hardik Pandya in the Indian Test team. Pandya last played a Test match on the England tour in 2018 and since then he is away from the longest format due to injury.

All -rounder needs on foreign pitches

Macmillan said that spin all -rounders like Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar are good options in Asian situations. But in places like England, Australia and New Zealand, the team needs fast bowling all -rounder like Hardik. He gave the example of England captain Ben Stokes and said that “Ben Stokes is equal to two players.”

Pandya’s test figures are also strong

Hardik Pandya has taken 17 wickets in 11 matches in his Test career. His bowling average has been 31.05 and he has once taken five wickets in the innings which came to win against England in Nottingham. In batting, he has scored 532 runs at an average of 31.29, including a century and four half -centuries.

Macmillan also talked about Shubman Gill’s captaincy and said that he is a good captain and will learn from his mistakes. “The first series is very difficult.
