England have announced their squads for the upcoming white-ball series against South Africabeginning September 2. The highlight of the selection is the maiden ODI call-up for fast bowler Sonny Baker.
22-year-old Baker has been rewarded for a standout summer with Hampshire and Manchester Originals, earning his first senior ODI cap. A consistent performer in domestic cricket and for the England Lions, Baker’s selection reflects England’s strategy of nurturing young talent while building squad depth for a demanding international calendar.
The series also marks the much-awaited return of Jofra Archerwho reclaims his place in both white-ball squads. His pace and ability to deliver in crunch situations will significantly strengthen England’s bowling attack.
