Irfan Pathan opened up about a disagreement he experienced with ex-India wicketkeeper Kiran More. The disagreement took place while they were associated with the Baroda Cricket Association’s Cricket Improvement Committee.
Pathan, now working as a commentator, revealed that More was not pleased after he put forward former Baroda player Connor Williams’ name for a coaching position.
During an interview with ‘The Lallantop,’ Irfan shared his side of the story regarding the issue.
“The Baroda Cricket Association invited me to join and contribute because they believed my ideas could benefit Baroda cricket. Kiran More was the chairman. Ideally, the person with more experience should have held that position, but he was in charge,” he said.
“At a committee meeting, I put forward Connor Williams’ name. He played 100 First-Class games and was part of Baroda’s Ranji Trophy-winning team. However, More rejected the suggestion, telling me, ‘Don’t mention his name.’ When I asked why, he replied, ‘He doesn’t greet me.’ That was purely an ego issue. As a result, I decided to write a letter to the president and the association.”
