Main point:
Despite not joining the Asia Cup team, KL Rahul and Mohammad Siraj may soon return to the ground. BCCI has sent email to all zones for the Dalip Trophy and directed to select central contract players in the team. The tournament will start from August 28.
Delhi: KL Rahul and Mohammad Siraj have not got a place in the Indian team for the Asia Cup 2025. However, despite this, the return of both the players on the field may be soon. Both of these cricketers are on breaks since the England tour. Now BCCI has sent an email to all the state associations including the South Zone and ordered that all the players with all the central contracts should be in the team for important domestic tournaments like Dalip Trophy.
Strict message from BCCI
In fact, South Zone did not take international players like KL Rahul, Mohammad Siraj, Washington Sundar, famous Krishna and Sai Sudarshan in the team for the Dalip Trophy. After this, the BCCI instructed all the zones to select all the available Indian players.
BCCI General Manager (Cricket Operations) Abe Kuruvilla has clearly written in the email that to maintain the reputation of the Dalip Trophy, it is necessary that all Indian players who are available should be included in their zonal team.
What will change the squad of South Zone,
South Zone announced his team for the Dalip Trophy on 27 July. He made Tilak Verma captain. At that time there was no guideline from BCCI. Now it has to be seen whether the South Zone changes its squad after the email.
BCCI already has the rule that Indian players who are not part of the national team need to play in domestic tournaments. The next season of the Dalip Trophy will begin in Bengaluru from August 28.
