Delhi: The South African cricket team concluded the tour of Australia with a very embarrassing defeat. After winning the first two matches of the three matches of ODI series, the visiting team could not retain the order of victory in the last ODI. In the third and decisive match, Australia defeated the African team badly and saved themselves from having a clean sweep in the series.

Australia’s stormy performance, three batsmen centuries

Batting first, Australia showed the game in a bang. The hosts lost just two wickets and scored a huge score of 431 runs in 50 overs. Travis Head, Captain Mitchell Marsh and Cameron Green scored centuries from Australian. These three batsmen took the news of the visiting bowlers fiercely and scored the mountain on the runboard.

South African batsmen defeat badly

In response to 431 runs, the South African batsmen were completely shattered. The entire team was reduced to just 155 runs in 24.5 overs. Dewald Brevis scored the highest 49 runs for the green jersey team. The rest of the batsmen could not stand in front of the Australian bowlers.

Conoli’s havoc, 5 wickets alone

For Australia, left -arm spinner Cooper Konoli turned water to South Africa’s expectations.

He took 5 wickets for 22 runs in just 6 overs.

South Africa recorded shameful record

With this defeat, South Africa experienced its biggest defeat in ODI history. Australia defeated the African team by 276 runs. Earlier, the biggest defeat of Protiaz was against India in 2023, when Team India defeated by 243 runs.

Now this record has been named after Australia. However, despite this defeat, South Africa won the three-match series 2–1.
