Hanuma Vihari Opts for NOC From Andhra; Set to Switch State Ahead of Domestic Season

The India batter Hanuma Vihari has seeked NOC from the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) as he decided to switch states ahead of the domestic season.

It is reported that he has decided to move to Tripura. “I have been thinking about a switch. Tripura has been asking me for some time,” said Vihari.

A Tripur Cricket Association (TCA) official has confirmed that the association has finalised Vihari as their professional for the season and in all likehood to be the captain of the side.

Tripura will be in the Elite division across formats both in red and white ball. “We have recommended to the association a few names to sign as professionals. I cannot disclose the names but I know we are signing Vihari,” said Tapan Lodh.

Hanuma Vihari has played 84 matches from 2011/12 season with 44 matches for Andhra where he had a total of 3013 runs at an average of 44.97 with four centuries and 20 half centuries.

He then moved to Andhra in 2016/17 season before going back to Hyderabad only to return to Andhra for the last two seasons.

He was also controversially removed from the post in 2024 following the political interference. He has played 40 matches scoring 3155 runs at an average of 57.38 with 10 centuries and 12 half centuries.

He has also played with a fractured left wrist once in a quarter final against Madhya Pradesh where he drew all-round praise from the opposition camp in Indore.

He also played 16 matches for Indian where he amassed 839 runs with an average of 33.56 and a high score of 111.

His last appearance for India comes during the England tour in 2022 in the final test at EdgbastonBirmingham where he coped up only 31 runs for the side and hosts eventually won the game by 7 wickets.
