Sarfaraz Khan has continued his dream run in red-ball cricket as he went on to smash back-to-back centuries in the Buchi Babu tournament 2025.

Smashing his first century against the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association earlier in the tournament, he went on to hit his second hundred against Haryana.

With his knock, he has increased his selection chances for India’s test squad. He went on to smash 99-ball ton to take his team to strong position.

Moreover, this was a statement knock as India is set to play its home summer against West Indies and South Africa and the batter has proved his potential chances for his selection for test squad.

Against Haryana, Mumbai had a solid start as the openers added 69 runs, but the side lost three wickets in quick successions.

However, Sarfaraz Khan shifted gears and went onto notch a 99-ball ton which included 9 fours and 5 sixes. He reached the landmark in style as he smashed Haryana’s Ishant Bharadwaj for a massive six.

Upon reaching the milestone, Sarfaraz Khan removed his helmet, soaking in the applause from his non-striker and the rest of the Mumbai camp. He was eventually dismissed 111 runs by Parth Vats.

Earlier, Sarfaraz Khan has scored 138* runs against TNCA Xl including ten fours and sixes at the Gojan College Ground.

In both of his centuries, Sarfaraz Khan has been at his aggressive best, playing his shots from balls No.1 not letting the opposition bowlers dictate terms and bowl according to their plans.

Meanwhile, Karun Nair and Sai Sudharsan failed to grab their opportunities in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy against England. Hence, there is an opening for No.3 slot and one in the lower middle order.

However, it is yet to be seen whether the management rewards Sarfaraz Khan with a place for the series against the West Indies.

Sarfaraz Khan was a part of India’s tests squad for the Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, where the side lost 1-3. However, the right hander did not play a single match down under.

Sarfaraz Khan had smashed 150 runs in the second innings of the Bengaluru Test against New Zealand. However, he just returned with 21 runs in the next four innings on spinning tracks in Pune and Mumbai.

Sarfaraz Khan was a part of India A squad for the unofficial test against England Lions. In the first game, he scored 92 runs while dropped in the second game.
