IPL 2024: Sunrisers Hyderabad have had a record-breaking performance in the IPL 2024 season, with their explosive batting unit crossing the 250-run mark three times, the highest by any team in a single edition of the tournament. However, Hyderabad lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 41st match of IPL 2024 played on Thursday. Kavya Maran was furious at the poor state of Hyderabad, the video of which is doing the rounds on social media.
After winning the toss, RCB captain Faf du Plessis decided to bat first. On the strength of Virat Kohli's half-century, RCB set a target of 207 runs against Hyderabad. While chasing this target, the team of Hyderabad collapsed like a card. The backbone of Hyderabad's team, Trevid Head, Henrik Klaasen and Markram, failed completely to put up big scores. As a result, the Hyderabad team had to accept defeat by 35 runs.
Aiden Markram and Henrik Klaassen were trying to follow the same mold as Abhishek, but Swapneel Singh trapped them. Du Plessis then brought in legspinner Karn Sharma, who quickly dismissed Nitish Kumar Reddy and Abdul Samad, and SRH's run chase failed. Maran, who was present in the stands, reacted angrily as the sixth wicket fell to Samad. This reaction immediately went viral on social media.
SRH captain Pat Cummins scored 31 runs off 15 balls. So, Shahbaz Ahmed showed a glimmer of hope for SRH with an unbeaten knock of 40 runs. But the Hyderabad batsmen who came into the field after Cummins' dismissal could not perform well. Hyderabad could reach 171 runs in 20 overs losing 8 wickets.
They have retained their third position in the points table of IPL 2024. Meanwhile, RCB, who snapped a six-match losing streak with their first win in a month, remain at the tenth position.
