The speedster didn’t like the talks and said he would retire when bored.
Mohammed Shami didn’t like the retirement question and gave a fiery response. The veteran has no plans to bid adieu and would take a call when the time comes. He is still enjoying the game of cricket. Shami failed to make it to the Test squad for the England tour and was snubbed for the Asia Cup 2025. He last played for India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
The retirements of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, R Ashwin, and Cheteshwar Pujara have put a question mark on Shami’s future. Meanwhile, the speedster didn’t like the talks and said he would retire when bored.
“Tell me if someone has a problem with me, and if their lives would become better if I take retirement. Tell me whose life I have become a rock that you want me to retire. I will leave cricket the day I get bored. I will play domestic cricket if you don’t select me for international cricket. I will keep on competing. You make a retirement decision when you don’t want to play the game. That is not the time for me at the moment,” he told News24.
