Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ruturaj Gaikwad reacted to Ravichandran Ashwin’s retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 28-year-old said that it was a privilege to be a part of the dressing room with the legendary spinner. Ruturaj mentioned that he saw Ashwin bowling for the franchise in his early years.

“To watching you play for the CSK and then getting to play alongside in yellow, privileged to share the dressing room with you, ash anna,” Gaikwad wrote on Instagram.

Ashwin was bought for INR 9.75 crore at the mega auction, returning to the team after 10 years. Gaikwad captained the legendary bowler in the first five matches of the IPL 2025. However, the batter was ruled out midway due to an injury.

Ashwin is looking forward to playing in the overseas leagues. He took 187 wickets in 221 IPL matches.

He was a part of the CSK team that won the IPL in 2010 and 2011. His experience will help him to become a part of different leagues across the globe.
