With the Asia Cup approaching, Bangladesh’s national cricketers are going through a busy schedule. On Monday, wicketkeeper-batter Jaker Ali Anik appeared at a press conference in Mirpur, where he made his team’s goal clear: winning the championship.

Speaking to the media on Monday, Jaker said, “This time we are going to the Asia Cup with the intention, In shaa Allah, to become champions. I, along with every member of the team, firmly believe in this. Our sole target is the title.”
Recently, at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, English coach Julian Wood has been working individually with players to improve their power-hitting skills, aiming to push each cricketer to their maximum potential.

“Julian is working with us on power hitting, focusing on how and where we can make improvements.
That’s what we are trying to develop ahead of the tournament.” Jaker added.

Before the Asia Cup, Bangladesh will play a series against the Netherlands. Back-to-back series victories in recent outings have boosted the team’s confidence.
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced the tournament schedule on July 26.
The Asia Cup will begin on September 9, with the final scheduled for September 28.

A total of eight teams have been divided into two groups. Bangladesh has been placed in Group B, alongside Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong. All Group B matches will take place in Abu Dhabi. The Asia Cup will begin on September 9, with the final scheduled for September 28.
