MS Dhoni is famously known for his calm and cool nature, but there have been instances when he lost his cool.

Former India player Mohit Sharma recently revealed one such rare episode. Mohit and Dhoni have played together, notably during the 2015 World Cup and with Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. However, one particular incident during a Champions League match for CSK has stayed with Mohit.

“I’ve had many memorable moments. Mahi bhai has a calm and composed presence, and you wouldn’t expect him to lose his temper. Once, during the CLT20 against Kolkata Knight Riders, Mahi bhai called Ishwar Pandey to bowl, but I mistakenly thought he was calling me, “Mohit told CricTracker.

“I began my run-up, but Mahi bhai clarified he hadn’t called me and was trying to get Ishwar instead. The umpire told me I had to continue bowling since I’d already started my run-up. Mahi bhai got angry and abused me. I managed to get Yusuf Pathan out on the very first ball. During the celebration, Mahi bhai was still hurling abuses (laughs),” he added.

“I’ve shared many off-field experiences with him. He genuinely enjoys teaching and every time you spend time with him, you learn valuable life lessons, not just about cricket. He shows how the sport can help shape a kind-hearted person,” he mentioned.

Mohit Sharma praised Mahi bhai for his simple approach. “One of the best things about Mahi bhai is that he keeps everything straightforward. When we gather in the huddle, the focus is always on using common sense. For instance, if the field is uneven, we need to stay alert and avoid rushing for the ball. He also advises on how to bowl when there’s wind,” he concluded.
