DHAKA, Sept 3, 2025 (BSS)- Netherlands captain Scott Edwards won the toss and sent Bangladesh into bat first in the third and final T20 match of the series at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium today.

Bangladesh had already clinched the series following their eight-wicket and nine-wicket victories in the first two matches.

But the hosts are eying a clean sweep by winning the third match also. They were not able to whitewash any opponents since sweeping the two-match series against Afghanistan at home in July 2023.

In fact, only once were Bangladesh able to sweep a three-match series in their history, which came against a formidable England team, also at home in March 2023.

However, apart from eyeing a sweep of the series, Bangladesh were also looking for the Asia Cup, and hence they made five changes for the final match in a bid to give all the players in the squad to play an International match.

Bangladesh rested Parvez Hossain Emon, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam.

Nurul Hasan Sohan found his place in the playing XI and would play his first T20 match after two years. Along with him, Shoriful Islam, Saifuddin, Rishad Hossain and Shamim Patwari returned to the playing XI in place of those five players.

Netherlands made just one change for a consolation victory with Tim Pringle returning to the fold, replacing Sikander Zulfiqar.
