Overview:

England captain Harry Brook described fatigue as an excuse after the defeat to South Africa and relied on the fitness of the team. He said that he wants to take a strong team in every white ball match, because two big World Cups are in front. The next match will be held on 7 September.

Delhi: England captain Harry Brook said that his team is still fit and he considers being tired. After losing 5 runs in the second ODI against South Africa, Brook told that his team will continue to play the match even further. He said, “We are not tired, we are fit and ready to play at the moment.”

Want to play with strong team

Brook told that he wants to play his strongest team in every white ball match because there are two World Cups in the coming time. He said, “I don’t choose the Test team, it is the responsibility of Ben Stokes and Brendon McClum. We want to land our best team in every white-ball game because we have the T20 World Cup and ODI Cup soon.”

Batsmen gave good performance

Brook admitted that even though the team has lost, the batting has improved. He said that in the first match, the team had scored only 131 runs, but scored 325 runs in the second ODI. Brook also admitted his mistake that he gave more over to Will Jacks while he proved to be very expensive. Both spinners, Jacques and Jacob Betahel together took five overs, but looted more runs.

Brook also obeyed his mistake

Brook further said, “I once sent Jax to bowl against the batsmen from the pavilion end, which was a risk and that risk did not work.” He also said that it was our good effort to lose the match with only one wicket shortage from the score of South Africa.

Next match on 7 September

The third and final match of the three -match ODI series between England and South Africa will be played on 7 September at Utilita Bowl, Southampton.
