South Africa’s young batter Dewald Brevis has heaped massive praise on Chennai Super Kings’ player MS Dhoni. The veteran is in the news after Irfan Pathan’s old video on hookah went viral in recent times. Irfan was dropped from the Indian National Cricket Team despite his magnificent performances in 2012.

He talked to Sports Tak about his career. He revealed his conversation with Dhoni about his bowling and performance.

In the second part of the interview, Pathan stated that he was not interested in setting up a hookah for someone. The fans tried to connect the dots and came up with Dhoni’s name, who is accused by many of finishing the careers of several big names.

Meanwhile, Brevis, who joined the CSK as an injury replacement in IPL 2025, liked playing for the five-time champions. He recalled how Dhoni was always available for his teammates.

“It was an amazing experience to play for CSK. MS is humble as a person and gives time to the players,” Brevis told AB de Villiers.

“His door is always open for the players, and I often paid a visit to him. It was nice to talk to him about cricket and hobbies. Everyone is aware of his achievements. He is also inspiring off the field,” he added.

In six matches, the right-handed batter amassed 225 runs at an average of 37.50 and a strike rate of 180. Brevis was one of the best performers of CSK in a disappointing season, with the franchise winning just four matches.

He smashed an unbeaten 125 against Australia in a T20I.

The 21-year-old also showed his talent in the recently concluded second ODI between England and South Africa.
