Overview:

Dream 11 has pulled out of the Indian team’s jersey sponsorship. The reason for this is the recently implemented ‘Online Gaming Act, 2025’ implemented by the government. Under this law, “Any person will neither provide online money gaming services, nor will it promote them.”

Delhi: Sponsoring the Indian cricket team has become more expensive than before. BCCI has fixed new rates, under which a match sponsorship in a bilateral series will now have to pay Rs 3.5 crore. At the same time, this amount has been fixed at Rs 1.5 crore for a match in a multilateral tournament.

New rates will be applicable to ICC and ACC tournaments

These new sponsorship rates will apply to competitions which are valid and organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). According to a report, these rates are slightly higher than the already applicable rates. Earlier, Rs 3.17 crore was to be paid for bilateral match and Rs 1.12 crore for multilateral match.

Dream 11 left Team India

This change has happened at a time when Dream 11 has pulled out of the Indian team’s jersey sponsorship. The reason for this is the recently implemented ‘Online Gaming Act, 2025’ implemented by the government. Under this law, “Any person will neither provide online money gaming services, nor will it promote them.”

BCCI canceled the contract of Dream 11

As soon as the new law was implemented, BCCI immediately canceled the contract of Dream 11. After this, new bidders have been invited for the title sponsorship of the Indian team. The special thing is that due to the guidelines of the government, BCCI has excluded the companies associated with real money gaming and cryptocurrency from this process.

Team India will land without title sponsors in Asia Cup

The Indian team will land in the Asia Cup starting in UAE from 9 September without any title sponsor. BCCI has kept the last date for the tender 16 September. That is, there will be no new sponsorship deal till the Asia Cup.

Expected to earn more than Rs 400 crore

According to the new rates, BCCI can earn more than Rs 400 crore from this sponsorship. However, this figure will depend on the result of the bidding process, which can lead to even more.
