Punjab minister Hardeep Singh Mundian revealed that 1,902 villages in 23 districts have been badly affected. Iyer has urged the fans to support the state.
“Punjab is known for its strength and courage. I have received a lot of love from the people of Punjab. Today, the floods have brought us down, but we are capable of dealing with this challenge if we stay together.
“Every contribution will give hope to the people of Punjab. We will see Punjab smiling again. Let’s unite for Punjab,” Shreyas Iyer said.
PBKS have collaborated with Global Sikh Charity to raise INR 2 crore. Earlier, the franchise donated 33.8 lakhs, which will be used to buy inflatable boats for the rescue of the families.
