Indian batsman Jitesh Sharma told in RCB Podcast that his batting skills improved by playing in every format of cricket. He said that Test, ODI and T20 all formates teach differently, due to which the batsman learns to mold himself and control the match.
Delhi: In today’s time, cricket is continuously being played worldwide. Because of this, many players are now beginning to decide in which format they want to play. Some players are giving equal time to all the formats, while some are focusing on only one format so that they can master it.
In the latest episode of RCB Podcast, Indian batsman Jitesh Sharma shared his opinion on the issue. He told how he benefited from playing in different formats and his batting skills improved.
Jitesh said, “If it is clear in your mind what you want in the season, then things become easier. But if you keep looking for excuses, the list of excuses will be long, like there was a white ball, T20 or a red ball. But finally your thinking will take you forward.”
He further said, “I think all the formats improve your batting skills. How do you play, how to make an innings. All this gets to learn. Every format has a different way. Test has a different level in cricket, separate in ODIs and separate in T20. When you play all three formats, you learn to mold you in every situation.”
According to Jitesh Sharma, “All three formats are very beautiful and help to improve a cricketer. Every format teaches you different things and deepens your understanding. He also told that during Ranji cricket, the spinners got a lot of help in playing. Also, he also learned how to take the match and when to attack.”
Currently, Jitesh is currently part of the Asia Cup squad and is associated with the team. After a great performance in the IPL, he has got a place in this tournament. Jitesh had changed the attitude of matches on many important occasions for the RCB team. He won everyone’s heart after his 85 runs played against Lucknow.
