Kolkata, 12 September (Read News). Preparations for Durga Puja are going on loudly in West Bengal, but the weather is going to turn once again. After the humidity of the last few days and summer, there is a possibility of rain in many parts of the state since Friday.
According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure line remains from Bihar to Odisha coast. Due to this, light to moderate rain may occur in all districts of North Bengal till Tuesday. Heavy rains are expected from Friday to Sunday in Alipurduar and Cooch Bihar districts.
The weather patterns are going to change in South Bengal too. Moderate rains are expected on Friday in all districts including Kolkata. On Sunday and Monday, both the scope and quantity of rain can increase. On Tuesday, rain is expected to continue in many parts of South Bengal. During the Annapurna and Vishwakarma Puja, eight districts of South Bengal may receive light to moderate rains, while in the coastal two districts, there is a possibility of rain.
However, there is less hope of getting relief from humidity from rain. In Kolkata, the maximum temperature on Friday is estimated to be 32 degrees and a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius. On Thursday, the maximum temperature recorded 34.2 degrees Celsius, which was 1.7 degrees above normal. On Friday morning, the minimum temperature was 28.6 degrees, which was 2.2 degrees above normal. The moisture content in the air was recorded at a maximum of 88 percent and the minimum 65 percent.
Meteorological experts say that on Friday, the temperature of the day can fall about two degrees and the night temperature can fall from 1 to 1.5 degrees. Despite this, people may have problems with humid heat amid light rain.
