Lucknow: The 42nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 was played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Eden Gardens. This match was historic because in this match, Punjab achieved the highest score in the history of T-20 cricket while chasing. In this match, Punjab had won the toss and decided to bowl first and after that, batting first, they scored 261 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs.
While chasing the target of 262 runs, Punjab created history and won the match by 8 wickets in 18.4 overs. This is the biggest run chase in T-20 history. Earlier this record was recorded in the name of South Africa, when they had achieved the target of 259 runs against West Indies in the year 2023. Middlesex is at third place in this list, when they chased 253 runs against Surrey. However, now Punjab has made this record in its name.
