India’s pacer Mohammed Siraj has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for August 2025 for his outstanding performance in the final Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at The Oval.

Siraj, who appeared in just one match during the month, produced a remarkable nine-wicket haul across both innings, playing a pivotal role in leveling the five-Test series 2-2. His game-changing five-wicket spell in the second innings dismantled England’s batting order, sealing a memorable victory for India.

Siraj was also awarded the Player of the Match for his efforts. He defeated Matt Henry from New Zealand and Jayden Seales from the West Indies to claim the coveted monthly award.

Siraj expressed happiness after being recognised on the international stage. “It’s a great honour to be named the ICC Player of the Month. The Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy was a remarkable series, and it was one of the toughest contests I’ve been part of. I’m proud to have contributed, particularly during the crucial moments,” Siraj said.

He also mentioned that the award was a testament to the collective effort of the team.

Siraj’s performance has earned praise from the cricketing community, including Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin pointed out that the pacer’s contributions to India’s success have often been “underappreciated,” despite his consistent performances in high-pressure scenarios.
