The spinners Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad have helped Afghanistan restrict Bangladesh to 154 runs in the Asia Cup 2025 game on September 16 at Abu Dhabi.

The duo went on to pick two wickets each in their spell in a must-win clash. Batting first, Saif Hasan and Tanzid Hasan Tamim opened the innings for Bangladesh while Fazalhaq Farooqi opened the bowling attack.

Making a solid start, the duo went on to post 63 runs for the first wicket as Saif Hasan lost his wicket to Rashid Khan for 30 runs.

After Litton Das’s dismissal for 9 runs by Noor Ahmad on a lbw, Tanzid Hasan went on to smashed 52 off 31 deliveries which included 4 fours and 3 sixes.

Towhid Hridoy and Shamim Hossain went on to pick up the phase in the middle overs but lost their wicketsfor 26 and 11 to Azmatullah and 11 runs respectively.

With Jaker Ali and Nurul Hassan’s unbeaten 12 runs each has helped the side to post 154 runs in 20 over innings.

Speaking at the toss, Litton Das said, “We’ll bat first. All boys are excited for this game, this is a must win. The wicket looks a bit on the slower side, 160 would be a good total.”

“It looks like a good batting surface, but a bit on the slower side. The mood in the camp is good, we have had a good last few months. Can’t think too much about the previous game. We have four changes – Taskin is coming back. We have three spinners and two pacers,” concluded Litton Das.

Meanwhile, Rashid Khan said, “Would have loved to bat first as well, but in T20 it doesn’t really matter. Guys had a good off for three days and we got a good practice session. Our strength is our bowling unit, specially spin bowling.”

“We still need to bowl well as a unit and hit the right areas consistently. We need to come out with a positive mindset. Body feels great, looking forward to enjoy. We go with the same team that played against Hong Kong,” concluded Rashid Khan.
