Beth Mooney made a masterclass knock and guided Australia to 43 run victory in the third ODI against India and helped the side wrap up 2-1 series win.

This victory has hinted Alyssa Healy’s side has adapted to the subcontinental conditions ahead of the upcoming Women’s World Cup 2025 making them as favourites for the marquee tournament.

Australia went on to score 412 runs on the back of century from Beth Mooney (138) and a knocks from Georgia Voll (81) and Ellyse Perry (68).

Apart from their knocks Alyssa Healy and Ashleigh Gardner’s 30 and 39 runs knocks has pushed the side to post a mammoth total at Arun Jaitley.

Despite being expensive, Indian bowlers, Arundhati Reddy picked three wickets while Renuka Singh and Deepti Sharma picked two wickets. Kranti Goud and Sneh Rana went on to pick 1 wickets each.

On chasing 413 run target, Smriti Mandhana went on to smash century and scored 125 runs smashing second fastest century in WODIs.

Meanwhile Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma contributed 52 and 72 runs respectively which helped the side to avoid a big margin defeat.

Sneh Rana showed some resistance scoring 35 runs but it was not enough as the side lost all 10 wickets with 18 balls to spare.

Kim Garth bagged three wickets and Megan Schutt ended with two wickets. Gardner, Tahlia McGarth, Grace Harris and Georgia Wareham picked one wickets each.

Beth Mooney was named as the Player of the Match. Speaking on the post match conference, Mooney said, ” Was a really nice wicket. Volly and Pez got us off to a really nice start and had a big partnership, wanted to keep that momentum going. We were just out there batting, building a partnership, picking off the bowlers where we could.”

“As the game went on, the total kept blowing out. We were aiming for 430 at one point, then 450, and sort of slowed down at the back end. We would’ve taken that at the start of the day to be honest,” added Mooney.

“First and foremost just want to contribute to the team. Playing in these conditions and understanding them is really important going into a WC. Hopefully they’re not all as flat as that wicket and it doesn’t feel like a T20 for 100 overs,” concluded Beth Mooney.
