Dasun Shanaka ended the innings with a six off Taskin Ahmed's last ball. His sixth six took Sri Lanka to 168 runs. They finished on 168 for 7, with Shanaka unbeaten on 64 from 37 balls, having been given a life once on 38.

Sri Lanka had scored 53 runs in the power play but managed only 30 in the next 6 overs. In the final 5 overs, however, they added 53 runs.

Bangladesh now face a target of 169. They have never chased down such a total in the Asia Cup T20S. Their highest successful chase came earlier in this tournament, when they reached Hong Kong's target of 144.
