Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday announced the Indian team for the two -match domestic Test series against the West Indies. The command of the team has once again been handed over to Shubman Gill. He had recently drawn the Test series 2–2 against England. At the same time, Ravindra Jadeja has got the vice -captain of the team.

Rishabh Pant is still not fully fit. He suffered a toe injury in the England series. In such a situation, Ravindra Jadeja has been made vice -captain in his absence. Dhruv Jurlel and N Jagdishan have been given a place in the team as wicketkeeper.

World No. 1 Test bowler Jaspreet Bumrah has also returned to the team. At the same time, Shreyas Iyer will not be a part of this series. He has taken a six -month break from red ball cricket.

The first Test match between India and West Indies will be played in Ahmedabad from 2 to 6 October. After this, the second Test will be held in Delhi from 10 to 14 October.
