The West Indies have suffered a major setback before the Test series against India. Fast bowler Shamar Joseph is out due to injury. In his place 22 -year -old Johan Lane has been included in the team. Joseph’s fitness will be tested again before the Bangladesh series.
Delhi: A two -match Test series will be played between India and West Indies in October 2025. The first Test will start from October 2 and the second from 10 October. But, before this important series, the West Indies have suffered a major setback. The team’s star fast bowler Shamar Joseph has been excluded from the entire series due to injury. The board has not given much information about their injury, but it has been made clear that they will not be able to play against India.
22 -year -old Johan Lane has been included in the team in place of Shamar Joseph. This will be his international debut. So far, he has played 19 First Class, 12 List A and 5 T20 matches. He is an all -rounder and the West Indies is considering him as the star of the future.
The West Indies Cricket Board informed about Shamar Joseph being out on social media. Also said that his fitness will be re-examined before the white-ball series against Bangladesh. The team is hoping that they will be able to recover completely and return.
