IND vs Sl Super Over: Suryakumar Yadav-led Team India also won their last match of Asia Cup 2025 Super-4. However, this time Indian players had to work hard in comparison to the last 5 wins. While batting first, Team India had scored 202 runs on the board, although the Sri Lanka team also managed to reach the score on the basis of Pathum Nisanka’s century but it could not cross it. Thus the first super in the history of Asia Cup was played, in which Team India won. Let’s take a look at the thrill of Ind vs Sl Super Over.
Bowling in Super-4 for India was the most successful bowler Arshdeep Singh. Kusal Perera and Dasun Shanaka came to bat for Sri Lanka. This decision of Sri Lanka seemed quite strange. Shanaka’s arrival was fine because he played an important role in tieing the match in the last over, but why did Nisanka, who took the century to the team close to this huge score?
First ball- Arshdeep Singh dismissed Kusal Mendis on the very first ball. Arshdeep, while showing cleverness, put the ball close to the wide line outside the off stump. In an attempt to slide on this ball, Mendis hit the ball in the air and Rinku Singh, who was present in the direction of the sweeper cover, caught a simple catch. (0/1)
Second ball- The Sri Lankan fans suffered another shock when Kamindu Mendis came to bat, not Nisanka after the dismissal of Kusal Mendis. Well Kamindu had to give only strike to Shanaka here, but for this he also played a scob shot, which he could not connect. However, both the players managed to run a run. (1/1)
Third ball- Arshadeep Singh’s class was seen on this ball. He beat the Sri Lankan batsman while putting a ball away from Shanaka. The ball was inside the wide line. Everyone appreciated this ball because it is very difficult to bowl in such a state of pressure. (1/1)
Fourth ball- Once again, Arshdeep Singh missed doing so and this time the ball went out of the wide line. The umpire called it a wide ball. (2/1)
Fourth ball- Arshdeep Singh managed to dodge Shanaka once again. The ball went straight to the hands of wicket keeper Sanju Samson. Shanaka ran for the run, but Kamindu went to Striker & Runauu. Samson targeted directly like an arrow. However, a lot of drama was seen here. Following the appeal of Arshdeep Singh, the umpire gave Shanaka a cot care, on which Shanaka used DRS and the runout became invalid. DRS found that Shanaka’s bat did not have a ball and is not out. Indian players also did not know this rule and a debate with the umpire for some time. (2/1)
Fifth ball- Shanaka, however, could not take advantage of life and was dismissed in the direction of Thirdman in the process of putting a big shot on the fifth ball. This time the catch was caught by Jitesh Sharma. (2/2)
The Sri Lankan innings ends on the 5th ball as only 3 batsmen get a chance in the super over and the innings ends as soon as 2 is out. In this way India got a target of 3 runs to win.
Captains Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill came to bat for India. Suryakumar Yadav took a strike. Sri Lanka overwhelmed Vanindu Hasranga.
First ball- Suryakumar Yadav discovered a gap while putting a brilliant cover drive on the first ball of Vanindu Hasranga and ran Team India by winning three runs off the first ball with Shubman Gill. (3/0)
