Australia defeated New Zealand by 89 runs in their first match of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. The defending champions were bowled out for 326 runs, with Ashleigh Gardner scoring a hundred. The Kiwis failed to put Australia under pressure and were dismissed for 237 runs in 43.2 overs. New Zealand captain Sophie Devine amassed 111 runs but her effort went in vain.
