In fact, this player was included in the Delhi team for the Veenu Mankad Trophy after pressure from a senior officer. But when the matter reached Rohan Jaitley, president of the association, he immediately condemned it and dropped the player out of the team.
Let me tell you, on 3 October, DDCA announced the 23-member team of Delhi Under-19, in which Abhiraj Gagan Singh was made the main wicketkeeper. But at the 22nd of the list, an opening batsman was selected as a backup wicketkeeper. According to media reports, this player never does wicketkeeping, yet he was pressurized and given a place.The selection meeting was chaired by Ashu Dani, but sources say that the selectors themselves were not responsible for this decision. A senior DDCA officer forced him to include this player on the basis of recommendation. In such a situation, after the announcement of the team, many DDCA officials told Chairman Rohan Jaitley directly.
