Huge offer by IPL franchise to Cummins and Head: The Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the most popular leagues in the world, in which players from all over the world come to participate. For this reason, it is also considered to be the richest T20 league and the dominance of IPL franchises is seen. This time also a big news has come out, in which IPL franchises have given a big offer to Pat Cummins and Travis Head.

Australian captain Pat Cummins and star batsman Travis Head received a surprise offer from a big IPL franchise. According to reports, both the players were offered an offer of around Rs 58 crore (10 million Australian dollars), with the condition that they would quit playing cricket for Australia and participate only in Global T20 leagues.

Rejected offer of IPL franchise

Travis Head and Pat Cummins received an offer of Rs 57-58 crore from the IPL franchise but their names had the condition of leaving Cricket Australia. However, both the players rejected this offer and clearly said that they are committed to playing for their country. Currently, both the players are associated with IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) where Cummins has been bought for Rs 18 crore and Head for Rs 14 crore.

Concern increased in Cricket Australia

According to the Sydney Morning Herald report, this matter came to light at a time when discussions were going on between Cricket Australia, state associations and the players’ organization regarding bringing private capital into the Big Bash League (BBL). The report said that the example of this offer was given to show that Australian cricket is now struggling to retain its players and if private investment does not come, many star players may move to foreign leagues.

Australian players’ salaries are low

The salaries of Australia’s top players are still low compared to global standards. Cummins’s annual income from international cricket is around Rs 17 crore (3 million AUD), which also includes captaincy allowance. Whereas most of the Australian players earn around Rs 8 to 9 crores.
