Maharashtra vs Kerala: Ranji Trophy has started, where there was an uproar in the very first match of Maharashtra. Maharashtra team is playing against Kerala. In this match being played in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala won the toss and put Maharashtra to bat first. This decision of Kerala paid off. Because Maharashtra's batting seemed to be derailing even before it got going. You can guess about his poor batting from the fact that even after 2 overs, the accounts of 5 batsmen were not opened.

5 batsmen did not open their account in 2 overs

Now you must be wondering how 5 batsmen played in just 2 overs? So this happened due to the sudden fall of wickets. Maharashtra suffered two big setbacks back to back in the very first over of the innings. First Prithvi Shaw went and then the story of Sidhesh Veer ended. Both these batsmen could not open the account. But, the story did not end here. Rather, it progressed sequentially in the next over also.

Another wicket of Maharashtra fell on the first ball of the second over of the innings. The batsman who got out this time was Arshin Kulkarni. The interesting thing is that like the first two batsmen, his account also did not open. That is, Maharashtra's top order was the guest of only 7 balls in the first innings against Kerala.

Top-3 batsmen including Prithvi Shaw made zero

The second over of Maharashtra's innings was also wicket-maiden. Now after 2 overs, 5 of his batsmen had come to the crease. And the score board run was zero. This means that out of the 5 batsmen, no one's account was opened after the first two overs. In this, there were only 3 batsmen who were out on zero i.e. a duck. And the remaining two were Ruturaj Gaikwad and captain Ankit Bawne.

Maharashtra's fourth wicket fell for 5 runs

Maharashtra was seen scoring runs on the score board in the third over against Kerala. These runs came from the bat of Rituraj Gaikwad but the wicket fell again in the fourth over. The batsman who got out this time was Maharashtra captain Ankit Bawne, who like his first three teammates, was out without opening the account. When Ankit was out on the fourth ball of the fourth over, Maharashtra's score was only 5 runs for 4 wickets.

After the captain's dismissal, Saurabh Navale came to bat. He tried to support Rituraj Gaikwad. He scored 12 runs on 23 balls, which included 1 four and 1 six. But his innings also came to an end just 6 overs after the fourth wicket fell, i.e. on the fourth ball of the 11th over. And thus Maharashtra suffered 5 major setbacks on the score of just 18 runs.

After this failure of the batsmen, now the big question is that how many runs are going to be scored in the first innings of Maharashtra?
