Former coach of Team India, Ravi Shastri has given his opinion regarding the future of both the legendary players and the 2027 ODI World Cup.
Delhi: The Indian cricket team has left for Australia tour, where a three-match ODI series will be played from October 19. This series will run from 19 to 25 October. During this time, the team’s two senior and veteran players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are also fully ready to make their comeback in ODI cricket.
Former coach of Team India, Ravi Shastri has given his opinion regarding the future of both the legendary players and the 2027 ODI World Cup. While talking to Fox Sports, he said that the career of Kohli and Rohit now depends on their own decisions.
Shastri said, “Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma had also retired from Test cricket on their own. No one had forced them. I think the same can be seen in ODIs too. If they are not enjoying the game or their form is not right, then they can announce their retirement themselves.”
Shastri further said that players like Kohli and Rohit can play as long as they still have the same hunger and passion for cricket.
He said, “Virat is a ‘chase master’, while Rohit bats explosively in the opening. It depends on how much energy and dedication he has left for the game. If he is fit and the passion is there, then no one can stop him.”
Now all eyes are on the return of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the ODI series against Australia. Indian fans are once again expecting a strong performance from both the legendary players.
