This achievement is achieved only by those cricketers who continue to perform excellently for a long time. Now Indian team captain and opening batsman Rohit Sharma has also made his place in this special club. He achieved this historic milestone in the Perth ODI against Australia.

Rohit Sharma became fifth among Indian players

Rohit Sharma has now become the 11th player in the world and 5th from India to play 500 matches in international cricket. Ahead of him among the Indian players are only Sachin Tendulkar (664), Virat Kohli (551), Mahendra Singh Dhoni (535) and Rahul Dravid (504).

Rohit Sharma’s excellent career record

Rohit Sharma, who has retired from Test and T20 formats, has so far scored 19,708 runs in 533 innings at an average of 42.11. He has scored 49 centuries and 99 half-centuries in his name. Rohit is now just 292 runs away from completing his 20,000 international runs.

Virat Kohli’s dominance continues

Virat Kohli has played more than 550 matches in international cricket. He has scored more than 27,500 runs at an average of around 52, which includes 82 centuries and 143 half-centuries. In terms of runs, he is at third place after Sachin Tendulkar (34,357) and Kumar Sangakkara (28,016).

Mahendra Singh Dhoni also became a part of this club

Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is also included in this special list. He played 538 matches in his international career and scored 17,266 runs at an average of 44.96. Dhoni also scored 16 centuries and 108 half-centuries.
