Jabalpur, October 19 (Read News). An 18-year-old student of Government Engineering College, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, who was missing since last day, was safely recovered by the police from Banaras (Kashi) on Sunday. The student had gone missing after leaving a suicide note in the hostel, in which he had mentioned suicide while apologizing to his parents.
CSP Ranjhi Satish Sahu said that the search was going on continuously since the student was reported missing. The family members were worried after a suicide note was found in the room. Ultimately the student has been recovered safely and handed over to his family. The student, resident of Umaria district, is studying in BE first year and lived in Gokalpur hostel. He saw an advertisement on Facebook to buy a mobile and clicked on the link. He liked the mobile which cost Rs 29,800. He paid this amount online by borrowing money from his father and some friends. When the mobile was not received even after payment, he realized that cyber fraud had happened to him. He had paid a total of Rs 29,835 for calls received from different numbers.
After becoming a victim of fraud, the student decided to commit suicide out of remorse. He left a suicide note in the hostel room, in which it was written, Mom and Dad, please forgive me, I will not be able to live anymore. Don’t try to find me. I have been scammed over the phone, please lodge a complaint with the police. After this he left the hostel on the evening of 12 October. On October 16, the student called his father and told him that he was at Kashighat in Banaras. As soon as the information was received, Ranjhi CSP Satish Sahu contacted the UP Police. The police team recovered the student safely, brought him to Jabalpur and handed him over to his family.
