Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu has won the toss and elected to bat first against Bangladesh in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025.

“We will bat. I am confident about my batting unit., The wicket looks good, that’s why we are batting. The sun is out, and hopefully we will give our best. We struggled with the conditions due to the rain. It is hard for the batting unit,” Chamari Athapaththu said.

Bangladesh skipper Nigar Sultana is happy with the toss outcome and is looking forward to restricting the rivals.

“We want to restrict them. We have good spinners and have done well over the years. We want to be in the moment and take it from there on,” Nigar said.
