Bikaner, 23 October (Read News). The property dispute of the former royal family of Bikaner has been going on for a long time between aunt Rajya Kumari (daughter of former Maharaja Karni Singh) and her niece Siddhi Kumari (BJP MLA, Bikaner East). The dispute pertains to the will of Maharaja Karni Singh (died 1988) and Rajmata Sushila Kumari (died 2023), which includes the management of the properties of Junagadh Fort, Lalgarh Palace, Karni Bhawan and five trusts (Maharaja Ganga Singh Trust, Maharaja Rai Singh Trust, Karni Singh Foundation, Karni Charitable Trust, Maharani Sushila Kumari Trust). Recent court and Devasthan Department decisions have strengthened Rajya Kumari, while Siddhi Kumari has suffered a loss in trusteeship and property control.
In response to the state’s petition, the state filed an application for a temporary injunction, saying that Siddhi Kumari was illegally grabbing the properties and obstructing the administration.
ADJ-3, Bikaner Dhanpat Mali gave the verdict in favor of the state. The Court held that the State is the sole surviving administrator of the will and has control of the assets. The court restrained both the parties from disposing of, selling, transferring or mortgaging the movable and immovable properties mentioned in the will (Order 39, Rules 1 and 2, under Section 151 CPC). This order will remain in force till the disposal of the original case.
According to the release issued by Private Secretary Govind Singh, on the application of Rajya Kumari, the Honorable Court, after listening to the detailed arguments of both the parties and carefully studying the file, concluded that after considering all the points for disposal of the case at hand, the court has found it certain to be in favor of Rajya Kumari.
