Delhi: Discussions have intensified in the cricket world after India’s 28-year-old batsman Sarfaraz Khan did not get a place in the upcoming series between India-A and South Africa-A. Many former players and experts are giving their opinion on this decision of the selectors.

Shardul Thakur supported

Meanwhile, Mumbai captain and star all-rounder Shardul Thakur has given a big statement supporting Sarfaraz Khan. On Friday, before the match against Chhattisgarh in Ranji Trophy Group D, he said that Sarfaraz does not need India A tour or series to play at the international level.

Shardul said, “Chances are given in the India-A team to those players who are being groomed for the future, but if Sarfaraz scores runs consistently in domestic cricket, then he can directly make a place in the Indian Test team. He does not need India-A to play international cricket.”

Last played for India in November 2024

It is noteworthy that Sarfaraz Khan last represented India in the home Test series against New Zealand in November 2024. During that time he scored the first century of his Test career. Since then he has not been able to get a chance in Team India.
