The third and last ODI of the series between India and Australia is being played in Sydney. Captain Shubman Gill once again lost the toss, as a result of which the Indian team had to take charge of bowling first in this match. Two changes were made in the Indian team for Sydney ODI. Due to injury to a player, a big decision had to be taken to drop Indian captain Shubman Gill.

Nitish Reddy out due to injury

The name of the Team India player who has been dropped from the playing eleven of Sydney ODI due to injury is Nitish Reddy.

Nitish Reddy was seen playing in both the ODIs played in Perth and Adelaide. But, injury stopped him from playing in Sydney.

Injured in Adelaide ODI, out of Sydney ODI

Nitish Reddy got injured during the second ODI played in Adelaide, due to which he was not available for selection in the third ODI. At present Nitish Reddy is under the supervision of BCCI medical team. However, Nitish Reddy's performance was not that good in the first 2 ODIs. As an all-rounder, he could score only 27 runs while facing 21 balls in both ODIs combined. At the same time, he did not do anything special in bowling also.

He failed to take wickets.

Kuldeep gets a chance in place of Nitish

Kuldeep Yadav has got a chance in place of Nitish Reddy in Sydney ODI. Kuldeep Yadav played his last ODI in the Champions Trophy in March this year. In Champions Trophy 2025, Kuldeep Yadav took a total of 7 wickets in 5 matches. Due to Nitish Reddy not playing in the current ODI series against Australia, he has got a chance to play his first match.
