Iyer got injured while fielding

Shreyas Iyer, who was fielding at backward point, made a brilliant dive while running backwards and took the catch, but he got seriously injured while falling. Although the board has not made the reports public, news agency PTI has quoted sources as saying that Iyer has suffered an injury to his left rib cage. In the initial investigation, it is believed that he suffered a blow to his ribs.

According to the information, after returning to India, Shreyas Iyer will undergo further investigation at BCCI’s Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. Reports say that his recovery may take some time and at present the possibility is that he will stay away from cricket completely for at least three weeks.
