India and Bangladesh shared points after their Women’s World Cup 2025 clash was washed out due to persistent rain in Navi Mumbai on Sunday.
After a revised target of 126 runs in a 27-overs-a-side game, India had an excellent start as they scored 57 runs without losing any wicket in 8.4 overs when rain interrupted the match. again. The umpires finally called off the match, so both teams got one point each.
Earlier, Bangladesh could only score 119 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 27 overs due to several interruptions. Sharmin Akhter made 36 runs with a lot of determination and was the top scorer, but the Indian bowlers had a great influence on the game. The left-arm spinners Radha Yadav (3/30) and Sree Charani (2/23) were the leading contributors for India, who made it difficult for the Bangladesh batters to score.
India, who have already secured the semifinals berth, will now plan their next move after the knockout game coming up later this week.
Brief Scores:
Bangladesh: 119/9 in 27 overs (Sharmin Akhter 36, Radha Yadav 3/30, Sree Charani 2/23)
