Kanpur, 26 October (Read). Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi was not only a fearless journalist, but also a powerful symbol of social harmony and national unity. He sacrificed his life for truth and justice. He will always be remembered for his cooperation. All India Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) District Organization Minister Upendra said these things on Sunday.

On the occasion of the 135th birth anniversary of freedom fighter, journalist, politician, social worker, writer and revolutionary Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi, who defeated the British with his writings, his birth anniversary was celebrated with reverence and respect by garlanding the statue installed in the Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical (GSVM) College campus by Akhil Indian Vidyarthi Parishad Uttar. During this, a large number of students, teachers and council workers paid tribute to his statue by garlanding it.

Medical College Principal Dr Kala was also present during the programme. He said that Vidyarthi ji’s contribution towards the society will always be remembered. He has proved his mettle not only in the field of journalism but also in other fields. We thank ABVP, who is working to make the works of such a great personality reach the youth.

During the program, council officials called upon the students to adopt their ideals and spread awareness in the society. Patriotic songs and speech competition were also organized in the programme. In the end, everyone concluded the program with a pledge for national interest and public service. GSVM Principal Dr. Sanjay Kala, Omnarayan Tripathi, Harshit, Suraj Thakur, Ashwani Yadav, Sameer Suman, Mehak, Priyanshu Jonkar and all other workers were present in the program.
