Siliguri, 27 October (Read). After being closed for 22 days, the Dudhiya alternative hum pipe bridge has finally opened from Monday. After the completion of the construction work of this bridge on the initiative of the Public Works Department following the instructions of the Chief Minister, it has been opened today.

It is noteworthy that during the heavy rains in the mountains on October 4, the iron bridge at Dudhiya was broken due to the rise in the water level of Balasan river. Due to which the traffic between Siliguri and Mirik came to a complete standstill.

Later the Chief Minister visited Dudhiya and ordered the construction of an alternative bridge immediately. After which the Public Works Department started the work rapidly. It has been opened after the completion of the alternative bridge construction work. The construction of this bridge has brought relief to the local residents as well as the tourism world. Local people and motorists are very happy with the opening of the bridge.

Regarding this matter, Santosh Tamang, Deputy Head of St. Mary Gram Panchayat, says that the work has been done rapidly on the instructions of the Chief Minister. The bridge has been opened for traffic from today.
